If you’re like us, you have a hard time saying no to all these cool gadgets out there. And while you probably like the idea of CubeSensors, our small, cordless and connected devices that continuously measure the most important aspects of your indoor environment, you (or your family and coworkers) might be less excited about adding yet another object into your living or working spaces.
To give you a better idea of how easily the Cubes blend in and what they can measure, we invite you to watch our teaser video that includes the Cubes in different real-life settings. The video was made for this year’s Launch Festival and doesn’t yet show the final version of the product or full capabilities of the companion app(s), but it will give you a rough idea of what to expect.
We’ll of course unveil more details in the coming months, but if you already like what you see, there’s one simple way to make sure your home or office will be the first to enjoy the benefits of CubeSensors. You can reserve your pack of CubeSensors for $10 today and pay the rest when your Cubes are ready to move in with you this Summer.
Since Aleš welcomed me to the team, I’ve been digging through the pile of research that was the foundation for our CubeSensors. It’s surprising to see how many studies point to the fact that good indoor air quality keeps us healthier, more comfortable and thus more productive. After all, don’t we all know that “bad air” at home or office can make us feel sick, uncomfortable, tired? Yet most research fails at providing a simple answer: how am I, a non scientist, to figure out what’s wrong with my living or working spaces?
Until now the answer has mostly been trial and error. Have allergies? Maybe we should get rid of the dog. Or that old carpet that’s been in our family for ages. Waking up tired? Go to bed earlier. Have a headache? Drink more water. Running nose? Have some Vitamin C.
There’s got to be a better way …
While all these might be valid answers, we can’t really get the full picture unless we take a closer look at our environment. I have a folder full of weather apps on my iPhone, but no app for the places where I spend most of the time. Sure, you can buy all sorts of bulky and ugly looking measuring instruments, but then you have to figure out a way to keep them out of sight. A more modern alternative is to hack together your own monitoring station with a variety of sensors. But unless you really want to turn your home or office into a science lab or weather station, you’re still looking for a better way to take control of your environment. Not just to measure it, but also to improve it.
And this is why I’m so excited about CubeSensors. They are magically easy to set up in any or all rooms you want to monitor, allow you to access your data from anywhere in a secure way, and give you the freedom to take informed choices whenever the time is right for you. Not to mention the fact that the Cubes will look ridiculously stylish either next to your other cool gadgets or on top of that special piece of carefully selected furniture.
But how exactly will the Cubes help you improve your indoor living? Ah, I’m glad you asked. That’s just the question we’ll be trying to answer on this blog while we all wait for our Cubes to be ready to move into our homes and offices. If you’ve got any specific questions you’d like to see answered or suggestions, you can get in touch with us via Twitter, Facebook, or email me directly at alja@cubesensors.com.
After an amazing response we’ve had since our launch, I’m proud to welcome @iAlja to the CubeSensors team. Customer and community experience is the cornerstone of what CubeSensors are all about. At CubeSensors we’re building a platform that will bring understanding of indoors to a whole new level. Soon our reach to the community will expand significantly and Alja will lead the charge.
The initial feedback from users was a great source of ideas for future features of the Cubes and of the services around them. As we focus our efforts on the production, we still want to gather as much comments and questions as possible. It’s this feedback that will help us deliver even better products in the future. Alja will be here for your questions and to help you connect with CubeSensors.
